Frank Galliers Ltd and its associated companies are committed to the Government's objectives in achieving sustainable waste management by:
The design team will implement as far as is reasonably practicable a policy of choosing design options, materials and construction methods which minimise the production of waste materials and danger to the environment.
When considering the purchase of materials or services, consideration will be given to suppliers who can show that they are committed to The Producer Responsibility (Packaging Waste) Regulations 1997.
All who are involved in site management will endeavour to control the amount of waste materials produced on site and segregate various categories of waste material to make recycling easier. Subsoil and overburden will be used as far as is reasonably practicable on site to minimise the need for transport.
Waste timber, shavings and sawdust will be used to fuel the workshop heating unit. Every effort will be made to minimise the waste material resulting in the packaging.
Waste lubricating oils will be collected by specialist oil recyclers and, where possible, reused. Scrap engine parts and metal will be disposed of to a licensed handler of scrap metal. Scrap batteries will be handed to the Trade Waste Handling Department of Shropshire County Council. Washing waters from plant and vehicles will be returned to sites in bulk.
Every effort will be made to reduce the use of paper by relying more on electronic methods of communication and information storage.
